Say what? Seyshelles!

I had the honor of being invited to the Seychelles by honorary consul Butz Welter, with the support of the Seychelles Art Foundation, to do a collaboration with the most famous artist of this wonderful island nation, Mr George Camille. This has been a long-standing idea of Butz Welter and I am so thankful he made this happen.

For one month I’ve travelled the islands, got to know the inhabitants, their lifestyle, their friendliness, their food, their culture.

And I painted, oh yes I painted. Day and night to process all these impressions. These endless inspirations that I still can't really grasp today.

It was a unique experience for which I am very grateful. The colours I painted with were so different from the colours in Europe. The people were so incredibly hospitable and the food was very 'special'. (Bat curry has definitely never been on my menu before).

All the work was topped off with an exhibition at the George Camille Gallery (Kaz Zanana), called ANSANM/ ZESUMMEN. It showcases over 30 original pieces of the most recent artworks created by me and George either collaboratively or independently.

It was a one of a kind experience that broadened my mind and an experience that sparked new ideas in me.

Mersi !
